Chichen Itza

We had a great trip to Chichen Itza for the day. This is the LDS guide, Able who was very good. If you look closely in his glasses, you will see the four of us leaning against the wall while he talked. I wondered if he thought I was crazy focusing in on him while he talked, but he never said anything. Lots more ruins have been uncovered since our last visit. It was a exciting trip home, as Jerry got on the OLD road home. So after many "topas" (speed bumps) and getting lost in the city of Cancun, we made it home. Jerry was awesome as he put up with 3 backseat drives telling him where to go. Great memories of a fun trip!

MOVING INTO THE PALACE

WOW was this a fun week in the Palaces of Cancun. We stayed at this lovely Cancun Palace and this was the view from our balcony. This trip was our first experience with an all inclusive on land and it was delightful. There was very little reason to leave the property because all the entertainment and restaurants were there or at one of the other 5 Palaces in the Cancun area that we could visit to eat, play, or visit.

Coatamundi Invasion

These darling raccoon-like coatamundi lived in the Mangrove trees around the Blue Bay Resort. They all belonged to just one huge family and they came out to visit every morning to see if the visitors would slip them any treats. We were warned they would bite but most people still tried to feed them.

Blue Bay Resort in Playa

We discovered there are two Blue Bay Resorts and they are not connected, so should you consider one or the other....this is the other and was a great choice. We spent three days in this lovely resort nestled in the mangroves of Playa de Carmen. It was spread out over a large area which had golf carts to transport the guest around to other buildings, restaurants, pools or the beach. It was really fun to just flag a cart and hop on.

Cancun 2009

We had a wonderful time with Jerry and Robin Pulley in Mexico in January. Our first few days, we stayed in Playa de Carmen at the Blue Bay Resort. Great place to visit if anyone is interested. There was entertainment each night some better than others. But the food, beach, and rooms were great.
Jerry is a master at switching reservations. We ended up at this resort and he talked them into changing our plans with RCI and got this beautiful place.
